REVIEWS - Sik50s Front Disk Brake Conversion
by Stanton High

Sik50s has really stepped it up on this system. This is a top of the line brake, in my opinion.
The best on the market.

This kit is made up of a billet hub drilled for heavy duty spokes, a Magura Gustav hydraulic dual piston caliper, with a pre-bled and ready to use lever and perch attached. All the hardware, spacers, and brake adapter are included.

I’ve been testing this brake on all terrains and conditions to see if I can damage it or make it not work. At first, I was worried about having the big 190mm rotor spinning that close to the ground. Its only a few inches from the dirt, but it tucks in perfectly and I could not get a big enough rock to hit and damage it. I'm sure its possible to bend a rotor, but its a lot harder than I expected.

The stopping power is unmatched. I have not seen any other brake work as well as this one. One finger is all you need to actuate the lever at any time. One finger stoppies are pulled off with ease! All my attempts to make this brake fade all failed. Wet conditions did slow down the stopping power, but compared to a dry stock drum brake, this disc is still a huge improvement.

The aftermarket hub in this kit also feels better than the loose stock hub adaptors that other systems use. This kit will definitely get some looks, everyone asks me where I got mine and how much. One bit of info that’s not advertised is that this hub will work with most stock style brake setups (including the stock forks).

In my opinion, if you want the best of the best, get this sik50s brake setup and stop with ease.

Style = 8
Performance = 10
Strength = 9
