Bike with Cyclone Rims
I recently received a pair of Cyclone rims from Skip @ 3rd Gear Racing. (10" and 12".) They are aluminum with double wall bead, with a color choice of red, black, blue, gold or silver. They include heavy duty spokes and allow you to use your stock hubs. You will need to drill the hubs out with a 11/64th bit to accommodate the new spokes. The spokes are really nice, if you hold them up to a stock spoke, you won't believe the difference. No wonder stock rims bend so easy! The color (mine are red) is rich, deep and even all around.

These rims are marketed as a low cost alternative to the higher priced aluminum rims. If you have 10k+ into your bike, you probably aren't going to want these rims but some fancy-schmantzy billet jobber but if you are a privateer on a budget looking to beef up your wheels and add some bling to your bike, I suggest checking out these rims. They are very nice for the money but they could be a little straighter where they are welded together and the anodizing could be a bit thicker but Skip has assured me that he is visually inspecting all of them and he will stand behind his customer service 100%.

Cyclone rim close upI haven't had the chance to abuse the hell out of mine yet but I know and ride with Skip, who is a big fella and abuses his fiddy A LOT and his are as straight as the day he put them on. They look awesome on my bike, the red color really stands out and I love how much difference a 12" tire on the front makes, it's so much easier to control now.

So if you are looking for an aluminum rim that won't take a huge bite out of your wallet or "A LOT OF BLING FOR VERY LITTLE CHING" then these are the rims for you.

About the Author: He rides like a squid and crashes more than you. He can usually be found trying to scam some girl into buying his next drink or letting him do doughnuts in her car. A bad influence who should be avoided at all costs.
