REVIEWS - AHP Over The Top Brake Lever
First off I am sure that everyone who is into minis knows
that there aren't any over the top brake levers out there
for the Honda XR/CRF 50. Well that has changed!
Mark at AHP Minis has developed the first ever over the top
brake lever. I’ve been fortunate enough to get my
hands one. Mark from AHP Minis was kind enough to send
me one of the first ones made to test. I have to say
that this thing is really awesome. It is made from
6061 aluminum and it will fit the Honda XR/CRF 50 & 70 with
the automatic clutch cover and the takegawa clutch cover.
Some of the features are the strong yet lightweight design.
It also includes two separate positions for foot pedal placement
to accommodate all types of riders.
 Now
it is time to put this thing to the test. It takes all
of two minutes for the install. There are absolutely
no modifications needed to install this lever. I would
rate the difficulty level at "as easy as it gets". Now
that I have it on and adjusted for my riding style it is
time to ride. I put this lever to the test for hours.
We were at a local bmx track and this lever and my bike took
a beating all day long. The AHP Minis over the top
brake lever worked flawlessly. It has a really good
feel to it and anyone who owns a 50 has to have one of
these. You don't have to worry about bending your
brake lever every time you bottom out anymore. We will
be doing a long term test on this lever late next month to
let you know how it is holding up.
AHP Minis has produced another great product. I have
to say that I couldn't find anything negative about this
lever. It is superior in design and quality. It
retails for $125 and comes in three colors (Red, Blue &
Black). It is a very well thought out product that
anyone with a 50 has to have. You
